Dahlia - Gallery Blush in 140mm pots

Dahlia 'Gallery Blush' – Care Guide (140mm Pots)

Botanical Name: Dahlia x hybrida
Common Name: Gallery Dahlia 'Blush'
Pot Size: 140mm (5.5 inch)
Flower Colour: Soft blush-pink with layered petals
Bloom Time: Late spring through autumn

Light Requirements

Place in full sun — at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Ideal for bright patios, balconies, or sunny garden beds.

Watering

  • Water regularly to keep the soil evenly moist, but not soggy.

  • In hot weather, you may need to water daily.

  • Allow the top 2–3cm of soil to dry out slightly between waterings to prevent root rot.

Feeding

  • Use a balanced liquid fertilizer (e.g., 10-10-10 or similar) every 2–3 weeks during the growing season.

  • Stop feeding in late autumn as the plant enters dormancy.

Pruning & Deadheading

  • Regularly deadhead spent flowers to promote continuous blooming.

  • Pinch back early growth to encourage a bushier shape.

Support

While Gallery dahlias are compact, they may benefit from light staking in windy areas to prevent stem breakage.

Pests & Problems

Watch for:

  • Aphids

  • Slugs/snails

  • Powdery mildew (especially in humid or crowded conditions)

Treat early with appropriate organic or chemical methods if needed.

Winter Care (Cooler Climates)

  • In frost-prone areas, move pots to a sheltered position or lift and store tubers once foliage dies back.

  • Store dry tubers in a cool, dark, well-ventilated place.

Tips

  • Ideal for container displays, borders, or cut flowers.

  • Great for attracting pollinators like bees and butterflies.

Our plants are considered a 'perishable item' so unfortunately we do not accept refunds. Please make sure that your purchase is final, and you understand the risk when shipping plants. It's assumed in our T&C's that you understand how to care for plants that have been shipped.
