A kitchen-garden favourite with a tidy twist, Greek Basil is loved for its naturally compact, bushy shape and masses of small, aromatic leaves. Intensely fragrant with classic sweet basil flavour, it’s perfect for fresh pesto, salads, pasta, pizza, and garnishes straight from the plant. Its neat growth habit makes it ideal for pots, windowsills, balconies, and herb gardens where space is at a premium.
Thriving in warm climates like FNQ, Greek Basil is fast growing and easy to maintain with regular harvesting. It responds beautifully to pruning, quickly forming a dense, rounded plant that keeps producing fresh leaves all season long.
🪴 Planting tip: Loves full sun to light shade and well-drained soil. Water regularly but avoid waterlogging. Pinch tips often to encourage bushy growth and delay flowering.
🌸 Flowering: Produces small white flowers if left unpruned, though regular harvesting keeps plants leafy and flavourful.
📏 Mature size: Typically 20–30 cm tall and wide with a naturally rounded habit.
