Hauntingly beautiful and completely unforgettable, the Tacca chantrieri Black is one of the most unique tropicals you can grow. Its deep black, bat-shaped blooms with long whisker-like tendrils create an exotic, mysterious display that feels straight out of a fantasy film. The large, glossy green leaves make it just as striking even when not in bloom.

Native to the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia, it loves warmth, shade, and humidity. Keep it in a sheltered spot with bright, filtered light and consistently moist soil — it’s happiest when treated like the rainforest royalty it is.

🪴 Planting tip: Thrives in bright, indirect light, rich well-drained soil, and consistent moisture. Mist often to maintain humidity.
🌸 Flowering: Late spring to autumn with dramatic jet-black blooms and elegant tendrils.
