Soft, fresh, and beautifully striped — Calathea ‘Freddie’ is a gentle, airy variety loved for its light green leaves brushed with elegant dark feathering. The pattern has a soft, wind-swept look that gives this plant a calming, natural feel, perfect for brightening bedrooms, bathrooms, desks, and shaded patios. Its leaves move throughout the day in true prayer-plant fashion, adding life and subtle motion to your indoor jungle.
‘Freddie’ thrives in FNQ’s warm, humid climate and is one of the easier calatheas to grow, staying lush and full with the right care. Its soft colouring works beautifully in minimalist, tropical, or coastal-style interiors.
🪴 Planting tip: Enjoys bright, indirect light, high humidity, and consistently moist soil. Keep out of harsh sun and water with filtered or rainwater if possible.
🌸 Flowering: Occasional small white blooms — grown primarily for its striking striped foliage.
📏 Mature size: 30–40 cm tall and wide.
