Monstera deliciosa – Swiss Cheese Plant 🌿✨
Iconic, lush, and endlessly stylish, Monstera deliciosa is a timeless favourite loved for its large, glossy green leaves and signature natural splits and holes that develop as the plant matures. Its bold foliage and relaxed growth habit make it a perfect statement plant for living rooms, bedrooms, offices, and covered patios, instantly adding a lush, modern jungle feel to any space.
Exceptionally well suited to warm, humid climates like FNQ, Monstera deliciosa is hardy, forgiving, and fast growing once established. It adapts well to indoor conditions and rewards basic care with strong growth and increasingly dramatic foliage, making it ideal for both beginners and seasoned plant lovers.
🪴 Planting tip: Prefers bright, indirect light but tolerates medium light. Use a free-draining, organic-rich mix and water when the top few centimetres of soil feel dry. Provide a moss pole or support as it grows for larger, fenestrated leaves.
🌸 Flowering: Rare indoors, but mature plants may produce a creamy spathe and edible fruit in ideal conditions.
📏 Mature size: Can reach 2–3 m tall indoors with support, with leaves up to 60–90 cm wide.
