Spinach ‘Perpetual’ – Beta vulgaris 🥬🌿

Productive, resilient, and wonderfully versatile, Perpetual Spinach is a favourite leafy green known for its smooth, dark green leaves and long harvesting season. Unlike traditional spinach, this variety doesn’t bolt quickly in warmer weather, making it ideal for continual picking over many months. Its mild, slightly earthy flavour is perfect for salads, smoothies, stir-fries, soups, and everyday cooking.
Well suited to warm climates like FNQ, Perpetual Spinach grows reliably with regular watering and harvesting. It’s a true cut-and-come-again plant, producing fresh new leaves again and again when outer leaves are picked.
🪴 Planting tip: Prefers full sun to part shade and fertile, well-drained soil. Keep soil consistently moist and harvest outer leaves regularly to encourage ongoing growth. Mulch well to keep roots cool.
🌸 Flowering: Grown for foliage; flowering occurs if plants bolt under stress.
📏 Mature size: Typically 40–50 cm tall with a clumping growth habit.
